Lux Fidelium Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Lux Fidelium app, made by Byteshire LLC (“we,” “us”). By downloading or using Lux Fidelium, you agree to these terms.
License
Lux Fidelium is licensed, not sold, to you for use only under these terms and under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. Where these terms and Apple’s Standard EULA differ, these terms govern the matters they address; Apple’s Standard EULA governs everything else.
Lux Fidelium Premium subscription
Praying, browsing, and syncing in Lux Fidelium are free. Lux Fidelium Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription that supports the app and adds features on top of it.
- What Premium unlocks: your full prayer statistics, including the minutes you’ve prayed and the prayers you return to most, and a choice of color themes, including themes that follow the liturgical year. Your count of completed prayers is always free. More features may be added to Premium over time.
- Subscription options:
- Monthly — $0.99 (US) per month.
- Yearly — $9.99 (US) per year.
- Free trial: new subscribers get a free trial of two weeks on the monthly plan or one month on the yearly plan. If you have previously used a trial, you may not be eligible again.
- Family Sharing: a subscription can be shared with up to five other members of your Apple Family Sharing group.
- Prices are in US dollars and may vary by region; the exact price, currency, and any applicable taxes are shown in the app before you confirm a purchase.
- Your statistics are kept whether or not you subscribe, so if your subscription ends, nothing is lost and the full statistics return if you subscribe again.
Auto-renewal terms
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews at the then-current price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone and iPad). Canceling stops the next renewal; the current period continues until it ends.
- If you start a subscription with a free trial, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
Prayer texts and readings
The prayers, translations, and any scripture readings in Lux Fidelium come from their publishers and from public-domain sources, which keep their own rights. They are provided for your personal devotion and may not be copied out of the app for redistribution. Where the app offers daily readings, they are shown from the website of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Lux Fidelium only for lawful purposes and not to attempt to interfere with, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the app except to the extent that the law permits.
Your data
Your statistics and settings stay on your device and in your own iCloud account, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers
Lux Fidelium is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent that the law allows. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every reading or prayer text is free of errors. Lux Fidelium is a devotional aid and does not replace the official liturgical books.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent that the law permits, Byteshire LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Lux Fidelium.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at this address.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
