Flindex Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Flindex app, made by Byteshire LLC (“we,” “us”). By downloading or using Flindex, you agree to these terms.
License
Flindex is licensed, not sold, to you for use only under these terms and under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. Where these terms and Apple’s Standard EULA differ, these terms govern the matters they address; Apple’s Standard EULA governs everything else.
Your files
Flindex works with the files in folders you choose to grant it. It reads those files to build a search index and, when you open or edit one, hands it to the system or saves your changes in place. You are responsible for the files you index with Flindex and for having the rights to use them. Your files stay where they already live, and your search index stays on your device and in your own iCloud account, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Flindex also acts on your files at your direction — renaming, moving, copying, creating, editing, and deleting them. These operations do what you ask to real files in real folders, and some of them, deletion above all, cannot always be undone. You are responsible for the changes you make through Flindex; please make sure you mean them.
Flindex does not store on our systems, back up, or take ownership of your files. Deleting the app removes its search index, never your files.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Flindex only for lawful purposes and not to attempt to interfere with, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the app except to the extent that the law permits.
Disclaimers
Flindex is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent that the law allows. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will find or index every file or every file format. Flindex is a search and management tool over files you keep elsewhere; it is not a backup service, so keep your own backups of anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent that the law permits, Byteshire LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Flindex, including any loss of or damage to your files.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at this address.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
